MS in Mathematics in Finance students at NYU Courant come together from around the world to form a highly capable and skilled talent pool. Our students have more finance knowledge than most science graduates and stronger quantitative skills than most business graduates. They apply to the program having completed undergraduate degrees in areas such as mathematics, physics, and engineering and are admitted through a selective process that extends offers to less than 10 percent of applicants.
As part of our program, they immerse themselves in a tightly integrated curriculum that provides the theoretical and computational skills that are financial industry standards and the cutting-edge technology that will usher the industry into the future. The training they receive leverages NYU Courant’s reputation as a global leader in applied mathematics education as well as the expertise, insight, and experience of leading-edge practitioners from some of the most prestigious financial institutions in the world.
