Our master’s candidates come from around the world to form a highly skilled talent pool. They combine deep quantitative training with knowledge of financial markets, computing, and data science. Their undergraduate degrees include mathematics, physics, and engineering, and we admit fewer than 10 percent of applicants.
Throughout our MS Mathematics in Finance program, students develop theoretical and computational expertise while working with cutting-edge financial technology. Their training draws on NYU Courant’s strength in applied mathematics and the expertise and experience of practitioners from leading financial institutions.

Every fall, we collaborate with the International Association of Quantitative Finance (IAQF) to host the National Mathematics Career Fair. Graduating students from quantitative finance, financial engineering, and financial data science programs across the country who are seeking full-time positions are invited to attend this event which regularly features more than 30 companies and more than 500 student attendees.
